The TYCA-NE Regional Executive Committee (REC) is looking for members to serve on our board beginning November 1, 2025. You will participate in planning and facilitating TYCA NE's annual conferences, member outreach, and editing & publishing the Nor'easter Journal. 

Some open positions require a three-year commitment, while others require a minimum of one-year though you are welcome to stay on if you'd like. Please note that this is a year-round commitment; there are often monthly check-in meetings and tasks that need to be completed during the summer months. If you feel that you can attend meetings and participate in the planning efforts, we would love for you to apply!

Those interested in a position may nominate themselves by completing the form below and by attaching a short bio (~150 words) and a photo. All nominees will be announced at the TYCA-NE conference in October, and TYCA-NE members will hold a vote for candidates beginning on the first day of the conference, October 2, and ending on October 3. Once new members are elected to serve, the REC will communicate the results via email.

• ​Treasurer (3-year commitment)

  • official voting member of the TYCE NE executive committee​

  • attend monthly meetings​

  • responsible for balancing the budget and bank account, paying bills, filing tax documents, depositing checks, communicating with the TYCA NE Chair, Vice Chair, and Sponsorship Chair regularly regarding costs and finances.

• ​Secretary (3-year commitment)

  • official voting member of the TYCE NE executive committee​

  • attend monthly meetings​

  • responsible for keeping organized and detailed minutes, sending them to the executive committee and uploading them to the shared drive; ensuring the shared drive is organized; assisting with editing TYCA NE's website and with monitoring TYCA NE's general email inbox

• Sponsorship Chair (1-year commitment, but welcome to stay on board if desired)

  • attend monthly meetings​

  • responsible for communicating with publishers and other sponsors collecting donations to help fund the annual conference, keeping detailed notes of all communications and sponsorship commitments, informing the TYCA NE Chair, Vice Chair, Secretary, and Program Chair of all commitments to advertise on the website and program, communicating with Treasurer regarding incoming funds. ​

• Future Sites Coordinator​​ (1-year commitment, but welcome to stay on board if desired)

  • attend monthly meetings​

  • responsible for scouting out and communicating with possible venues for future conferences, negotiating contracts with venue managers alongside TYCA NE Chair and Vice Chair, acting as point person for contact with venue manager and reporting back to Chair and Vice Chair.

• Social Media Chair (1-year commitment, but welcome to stay on board if desired)

  • attend monthly meetings​

  • responsible for collaborating with Chair, Vice Chair, and Membership Chair to design a communication plan for the year; posting on social platforms at least once a week (Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn); working with Local Arrangements Chair to gather information about the location of the upcoming conference.

• Registration Chair (1-year commitment, but welcome to stay on board if desired)

  • attend monthly meetings​

  • responsible for ensuring all presenters are registered for the conference, printing name tags, preparing a list of registered attendees for conference check in on the day of the conference, helping with the check-in table​

​

• Nominations Chair (1-year commitment, but welcome to stay on board if desired)

  • attend monthly meetings​

  • responsible for organizing the nominees for open positions, preparing a voting system for conference attendees to vote, tallying votes to determine who will be placed into a role on the board, communicating with nominees when necessary
