The TYCA-NE Regional Executive Committee (REC) is looking for members to serve on our board beginning November 1, 2026. You will participate in planning and facilitating TYCA NE's annual conferences, member outreach, and editing & publishing the Nor'easter Journal. 
 
REC positions require a three-year commitment in which members attend monthly online check-in meetings, complete tasks related to particular REC roles, communicate throughout the year via email, and help to plan and attend our annual conference. If you feel that you can attend meetings and participate in the planning efforts, we would love for you to apply!
 
Those interested in a position may nominate themselves by completing the form below and by attaching a short bio (~150 words) and a photo. All nominees will be announced at the TYCA-NE conference in October, and TYCA-NE members will hold a vote for candidates beginning on the first day of the conference, October 2, and ending on October 3. The results of the election will be announced at the end of our 2026 conference in Lancaster, PA.

• ​Treasurer (3-year commitment)

  • Serve as official voting member of the TYCE NE executive committee​;

  • Attend monthly meetings​;

  • Be responsible for balancing the budget and bank account, paying bills, filing tax documents, depositing checks, communicating with the TYCA NE Chair, Vice Chair, and Sponsorship Chair regularly regarding costs and finances.​​

•   ​Membership Chair (3-year commitment)

  • ​Serve as official voting member of the TYCE NE executive committee​.

  • Attend monthly meetings​;

  • Maintain an up-to-date list of the names and contact information of regional members;

  • Devise and implement member recruitment and retention strategies;

  • Encourage members of the regional association to maintain membership in NCTE/TYCA.
     

• Regional Representative to the TYCA Executive Committee (3-year commitment)

  • Serve as official voting member of the TYCE NE executive committee​;

  • Attend monthly meetings​;

  • Serve as representative of the region to National TYCA by attending the twice-yearly meetings of National TYCA;

  • Communicate with National TYCA about REC actions and events;

  • Report to National TYCA plans for and the results of the annual conference in the region;

  • Attend the regional REC meetings and report to the REC and the membership about National TYCA issues and activities after each national meeting;

  • Coordinate with other TYCA regions in support of the work of TYCA National.​​​
